Amongst Samsung’s arsenal of devices is the latest Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro.

Released in October 2016, and starting at INR 37,000, the Galaxy C9 Pro is a phablet with a 6 inch Full-HD display. The phone is a dual-SIM unit powered by a 1.44 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor and has a 6 GB RAM.

That processor setup automatically indicates that this is a budget-phone. That said, the phablet’s speed and performance are quite good, and with the 6 GB RAM, it is easy to multitasking.

It comes with 64 GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256 GB.

For cameras, the phone packs 16 megapixel units on the back and front, going the HTC U series league with the latter.

As for software, the phone runs on Android 6.0.1. Marshmallow, which with a 4,000 mAh battery (that would be much-needed for its huge screen), the battery should last about 75% of the day (we estimate).

Amongst the things that go for the phone are the amazing design choices and the full metal body it flaunts. The 6 inch SUPER AMOLED Full HD display with Gorilla Glass 4 is a decent screen but 6 inches is a tricky space to be in as people may love the extra real estate, but it also becomes too much of a stretch for the palm and thumbs.

The phone is a dual SIM unit and the best thing about that is that unlike most other dual SIM phones in the market, this one does not have a hybrid slot.

The cameras are good, especially the 16 megapixel selfie shooter, which trumps most others in the market by a great margin. The battery at 4,000 mAh should be quite good, and it being supported by USB Type-C fast charging is only an add-on. The fingerprint sensor is fast and responsive.

All in all, the phone is a mid-range addition to Samsung’s arsenal of devices. It has decent features and is likely to pass muster with the price conscious Indian.
